Yard Waste Collection Resumes

  • Collection of containerized yard waste resumes the week of November 14 on the normally scheduled day for all routes in Lee County franchise areas.
  • Residents are asked to use containers, paper lawn and leaf bags or clear plastic bags to set vegetative material – including palm fronds – curbside on their regular collection day.
  • Black plastic bags and bundled yard waste will not be collected with curbside yard waste at this time. If you do not replace the black plastic bags with paper lawn bags, your yard waste will NOT be picked up and you will be required to remove it from the street and hide it from view until the next collection day.
  • Limbs, palm fronds and larger items MUST be bundled, no more than 6 feet in length. If it is not bundled, it will NOT be picked up and you will be required to remove it from the street and hide it from view until the next collection day.
  • Christmas Trees that have had all decorations, lights, tinsel and the stand removed can be set out for collection with your yard waste. Flocked trees need to go out with your trash.

Placement & Removal of Garbage Cans, Recycle Containers and Yard Waste:

  • Place cans and/or bags less than six feet from the roadside.
  • Trash must not be placed out more than 24 hours before scheduled pick up time.
  • Empty cans must be removed within 48 hours after pick up. Violation of this rule may result in a warning for the first offense and a fine for each subsequent violation from Lee County.
  • Please place carts at the curb with the arrow facing the street. Keep the cart 3 feet from mailboxes, other cans/carts and any other obstacle.
